Who We Are
Crawford & Bowen Planning, Inc. was formed by two experienced environmental planners who saw a need for specialized environmental planning services. Our mission is to provide excellent environmental consulting at the most efficient level, while maintaining the highest standards for quality and legal compliance.
Our environmental compliance strategy is both economically and environmentally sound. Our comprehensive approach to project analysis is based on integration of strategic planning, early identification of issues, constant communication and creative problem solving. Our firm specializes in CEQA documentation for a broad range of projects. We have worked for dozens of jurisdictions over the years and have prepared CEQA documents for several high-profile and contested projects. Our principals have prepared hundreds of environmental documents over the past 16 years and stay current on the ever changing legal regulations and case law that directs the environmental review process.
OUR PRINCIPALS
Travis Crawford, AICP
Travis is a tested environmental planner who specializes in obtaining environmental compliance for residential/commercial development projects, policy documents, college/school districts, Caltrans projects, and many other types of projects. He has particular expertise and experience in working on controversial projects and is adept at public presentations and hearings.
Travis brings a keen legal eye and is a trusted resource to cities, counties, school districts and developers throughout California. His diverse project experience has involved him in most every type of project spanning up and down the State of California. He has worked with dozens of lead agencies and jurisdictions providing sound environmental compliance strategies.
Emily Bowen, LEED AP
Emily is an experienced environmental planner who assists Lead Agencies and developers in attaining environmental compliance pursuant to CEQA and NEPA. She has worked with several cities and counties throughout California, along with many Federal Lead Agencies, including the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
Emily has extensive knowledge in preparing documents for a multitude of project types, including industrial processing plants, dairies and other animal confinement facilities, solar energy generation facilities, and water transfers and related infrastructure between special districts. She enjoys people and is a natural at building relationships within local public and state regulatory agencies.
